Clay – The Saints lost surprising little for being the Superbowl champs. The offense lost next to nothing and is the key to their team. They did lose a couple pieces in their defense but they showed last year that they can win with a below average defense. They finished #25 in defensive ypg and #20 defensive ppg. They only have Atlanta to contend with in the South, so I think they will coast into the playoffs. 12-4
Nate -The difference between th 09 Super Bowl Champs and the 08 team that finished last in their division was the defense. Not only did they allow 52 less points but more importantly they scored 8 defensive TD’s. That was twice as many as any other team and 8 more than they scored in 08. They also improved their number of turnovers caused from 23 in 08 to 38 last year. NFL history tells us they are unlikely to repeat those numbers on defensive even when Sharper comes back. Turnovers and injuries are the hardest part of the NFL to predict and last year the Saints excelled in both categories. 10-6
